Hey pals, welcome back to Tower Tea. To hop right in, I’m gonna lead with something important this week. This community is one of my favorite things about this job, with the vast majority of you making it genuinely rad. But I do want to take a second and remind y’all, be it in Discord, Reddit, our socials, or anywhere else, be kind to each other and to our team. Our moderators volunteer their time because they love this game and they deserve to be treated with respect. That goes for all of us. Okay, now here’s the Tea
Dissonance Feedback
The Tower website goes live in May
Creator Program Update
How we release things & v28.0.6
Dissonance
Okay, I’ve been watching the Dissonance convo going on and real quick, what are we calling them? Disco runs? Diss runs? Dissy roos? Disky Doodles (don’t ask). Let me know! But seriously, whatever we call them, here’s what I am seeing from the community so far: Regarding the Disco Doodle Dandys - "For me the breath of fresh air that has been this update is like so: it has me using modules and cards I never would've considered using before." I let the devs know and they were super stoked to hear this. They also want to know what’s your most surprising combo so far? "I'm sure most people here would be shocked at a million things I'm doing 'wrong' in this game but I'd like to get this one at least sort of right." As someone who has only played 8 ish months, I hope you know that there isn’t a wrong way to play, and as long as you’re having fun I think that’s the point. And one because, well, why not? We hear you on “module presets”, I pinky promise, more news in time Defenders, in time.
The Tower Website
We wanted to let you know that The Tower website is going live in May! Keep in mind, this is an evolving site, we will be adding and changing and updating it weekly. We will have a separate post with more information when it goes live.
Creator Program Update
For those who've been waiting on news about the Creator Program, we have an update. We recently closed our first open application window and received over 50 applications. I am genuinely so stoked with the response, and I am currently working through each one carefully. You'll hear back in late June/July 2026 with next steps. A quick note: we're also in the middle of some behind-the-scenes infrastructure work, so the timing works out nicely to get everything squared away before we officially launch. We want this program to be set up well from the start, not rushed. If you applied, thank you, sit tight
How We Release Things
With v28 out in your hands, v28.0.6 rolling out this week* , and v28.1 in the oven, we wanted to take a minute to talk about how updates are rolled out here. This might be helpful for some of our newer players who haven’t been with us through a full cycle too. So the big lettered updates (v28, v29, etc) will have a “major feature”, but we’re building out more and more content between those, the .1s, .2,s and other updates that drop when things need fixing or we have a smaller addition ready to go. The “smaller” releases have been chonkier than ever, and we did that on purpose. But what does this mean for you? The short version? Just because you didn’t get your wishlist item in v28 doesn’t mean you won’t see it in the future, and it might show up sooner than you think. *Yes, you read this right, we have an update coming this week! We made some adjustments to how rounds resume in v28, and those changes introduced some syncing issues, notably for Ultimate Weapons and Bots, when picking back up mid-run. The team has been taking extra care to resolve the underlying issues instead of just reverting the changes, and those fixes are heading your way soon.
Have a good one pals
One last thing, friendly reminder, the Oops All Modules sale and the Lucky Banner ends April 29, 2026 at 3:00 pm UTC. That’s it, I just wanted to remind you. As always, sound off in the comments, tell me about your week, and I’ll see you around the Tower! Sam
